Greg Street Presents WeNeed2Read! (Cochran Young Adult/Teen Event)

April 22 @ 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

In an effort to promote reading and encourage kids to read, one of Atlanta’s most beloved radio personalities, Greg Street, founded the We Need to Read program. This program challenges kids that live in the metro area to improve their reading levels. Cash and prizes will be awarded to the top students with the best comprehensive essay.

Participants will read several books throughout the day and write short essays. A panel of judges will review the essays and select the talented winners.*

*Students in middle or high school, (public, private, or homeschooled), may enter. Participants must bring proof of enrollment. Essays will be judged on reading comprehension, an inclusion of the title, the detail of the summary, and expression of opinion about the book.

This event is intended for children and young adult/teens in middle and high school. The library will be closed until 10am for public use, but participants will be granted access. The library will closed at 2pm, but participants will still have access to the meeting room where the event takes place until the contest ends at 4:30 pm.
