Fortson Presents: Malcolm & Martin (Fortson Adult Event)

February 23 @ 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Join us for this Black History discussion with Mr. Teddy at Fortson Library!

Audience members will be invited to share their insights and opinions as to how they feel the world and community would have benefited from the collaboration of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr’s philosophies towards fighting racism.

Mr. Teddy shares: “Historically, society has always tried to portray Malcolm and Martin as leaders in the African American community with opposing views. Even though they initially began with their own approach to combating racism, towards the end of their lives they were actually beginning to move towards a unified vision combining their perspective methods and philosophies.”

Come learn and discuss the evolution of their philosophies, its impact on the world, and theorize what it would have been like had these two great men had collaborated more closely together.

This event is an intended hate-free safe space for adults to academically discuss and analyze black history.
