Marketing Manager

Open until filled. Hourly (non-exempt) position. Starting rate of pay is $18 to $23 per hour, depending on education and experience. This position is full-time with some flexibility in scheduling. Some remote work may be approved on occasion. Benefits include generous paid vacation & sick leave, paid holidays, optional medical, dental, and flex benefits  under State Health Plan, and participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Georgia. Service accrued under TRS is transferrable.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing marketing strategies and materials such as brochures, flyers, and displays for print and digital distribution.
  • Preparing press releases, presentations, speeches, and correspondence by gathering information, writing copy, editing, and distributing materials to staff and external organizations.
  • Visiting branches to help with their publicity needs and to communicate those programs to patrons and the media.
  • Participating in community organizations to promote the Library’s image and programs.
  • Assisting with event planning and outreach.
  • Assisting with fostering and sustaining collaborative relationships and partnerships with area agencies and organizations, community leaders, and educational organizations.
  • Participating in collaborative grant writing efforts and proposals to provide funding for quality library programming, services, and operations.
  • Administering the library system’s social media accounts and collecting data regarding usage and engagement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Communication, or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications, Media Relations, and Digital Marketing.
  • Excellent verbal (public speaking) and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Content Management or WordPress.
  • Knowledge of Marketing, Public Relations, Communication & Media, writing, and graphic design principles and practices.
  • Experience with social media and content creation.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Valid GA Driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
  • Three or more years of related experience; we may consider a combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Grant-writing experience.
  • Creativity and sense of humor a plus!

Custodian, Part-Time
Location: Cochran, McDonough

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Branch Manager/Assistant Branch Manager, this part-time position is responsible for the cleaning of the Library.

Essential Duties

  • Clean all bathrooms daily: clean and disinfect toilets inside and out, clean walls of stalls,  clean and disinfect sinks, clean mirrors, disinfect drains once a month, restock paper dispensers, and clean and disinfect door handles.
  • Vacuum the carpeted areas.
  • Vacuum the carpeted areas.
  • Sweep hard floors (and mop as needed).
  • Empty all trash receptacles.
  • Wipe down the circulation desks in adult and children’s areas.
  • Wipe down tables in public areas.
  • Clean glass in entry doors.
  • Pick up litter from the sidewalks and parking lot.
  • Dust window blinds on a rotating basis.
  • Not responsible for washing staff dishes or cleaning computer equipment.
  • Other cleaning as assigned by the Branch Manager/Assistant Branch Manager

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to learn and use the library’s custodial equipment and cleaning materials.
  • Ability and willingness to understand and efficiently carry out oral and written instructions, and to follow through on numerous details in an orderly, systematic fashion.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.

Scope and Effect:
The purpose of the work is to assure the clean and sanitary conditions of the branch.

Physical Demands:

  • Work typically involves moving, using, and adjusting a variety of heavy equipment and materials.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds and other strenuous physical activities, and requires sustained operation of cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mop buckets, etc.
  • Work includes exposure to cleaning chemicals, debris, dust, and other uncomfortable conditions.

High school education or GED

Library Assistant, Part-Time
Locations: Cochran (Stockbridge), Fairview, Locust Grove

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, aids patrons in finding materials to meet their information and recreation needs. Performs circulation and patron registration tasks. May assist with program planning and presentation. Other duties as required.

Supervisory Controls
Works under the supervision of the Branch Manager. Routine tasks and projects are done with little supervision. In the absence of the Branch Manager, reports to the Assistant Branch Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities
None

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associate Degree. College graduate preferred.
Experience: Two or more years of public contact work.
Any combination of experience and education providing the needed skills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Clerical skills with emphasis on accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Excellent people/interpersonal skills.
  • Broad general knowledge of literature and information sources.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and office equipment.
